Our mission is to proclaim the teachings of Jesus Christ as declared in the Scriptures. We are empowered by the Holy Spirit to know, love and serve God and to build God's Kingdom on earth. To carry out this mission, we will pray and work according to these principles.
♦ We strengthen and share our faith by participation in the Eucharist. We commit to Christ and proclaim the Good News. ♦ We welcome, nurture and care for one another in the parish and the community at large. ♦ We prepare for and celebrate the Sacraments. We share and participate in continued faith formation. ♦ We provide service opportunities and social outreach. We advocate for the oppressed. We promote and live out the social teachings of the Church. |
Dear New Parishioner,
On behalf of all the families that make up Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community (CGS), we would like to extend to you a warm and joyful welcome to our parish.
Here at CGS, we like to look upon ourselves as a family -- children of the one Father who share His life together as we work through the joys and struggles, the sharing and receiving, the dying and rising of our lives. Because we are a family, we rejoice and give thanks whenever our Heavenly Father gives us new brothers and sisters to share our journey in the Kingdom.
Because we are a large and growing family of over 2800 households, it may be easy to see yourself as one more census card. We want you to know that our priority here is caring for one another and the beautiful God who has brought us together. If there is anyway your new parish family can be of help to you, please don't hesitate to call. We are here for you.
Your special gifts have been given to us as another way our Father says, "I love you" to the whole parish community. Your presence at Liturgy is also important and a blessing to us all. As you get settled, remember that we urge you to share your time, talents, and treasure along with your ideas and suggestions. Let us help one another in the challenging task of being the Body of Christ.
Again, WELCOME! You are already a part of our prayers and hearts.
