One of the most awesome inheritances we can leave for our loved ones, and the world, is our faith. Some of us had our Catholic faith passed to us from others. Some of us studied, learned, and deepened the wellspring of our faith on our own. Once having tasted the daily peace
and healing that being caught up in God brings, we could not seek anything better to leave to our loved ones.
The Faith Formation journey that is described in the Faith Formation hand book is a pilgrim’s guide, not conditions for sacraments. The proper perspective on that is essential to understand why Jesus calls us to be formed in union with others. The Holy Spirit continues to call our Church, continues to call each of us, to grow in our faith and communion with God and neighbor.
It is my expressed hope that all will work together to make this pilgrimage the profound one it is in fact. We are called to encounter Christ in the Sacraments. It is our responsibility to prepare for that spiritual encounter and not just for a ceremony.
What is Faith Formation?
It is the Faith development and growth of every member of our parish family. At various times in the past, these programs have been known as CCD, Catechism, Religious Education, CCE, etc.
Who should be active in Faith Formation?
All Parishioners should be active in their own Faith Formation. We invite those who enjoy reaching out and sharing their spirituality and gifts with others to be actively involved.
What is the commitment?
It really depends on you...and on the specific needs of the program and your interests and availability.
